Udio used to be the pick for audio quality and stems. Since October 30, 2025 it lets you create and listen, but not download. For most creators that ends its usefulness: you cannot put a song in a video, release it, or hand it to a client if you cannot export it.

1. Suno: the closest replacement
Suno v6 (released September 9, 2026) is the strongest full-song generator available. It was trained partly on licensed music from Warner, BMG and Believe, and it adds text-based editing, like changing just the chorus. Voices lets you sing on your own tracks, and Custom Models trains a version of Suno on six or more of your own songs.
The catch is new: since September 3, 2026, downloads are capped. Pro allows 20 downloads a month, Premier allows 60, and extra downloads can be bought. 2. ElevenLabs Eleven Music
ElevenLabs is best known for AI voices, but Eleven Music generates complete songs with vocals in many languages. Its training data is licensed, which makes it one of the safer choices for commercial work. It also pairs naturally with ElevenLabs' voice and sound-effect tools if you make videos or podcasts.
3. Soundraw: downloadable instrumentals, no caps
If you used Udio for background music, Soundraw is a better fit anyway. It makes royalty-free instrumentals you can shape by mood, length and energy, and paid plans cover use in monetized YouTube videos, podcasts and ads. There are no vocals, but there are no download caps either.
4. AIVA: scores and cinematic music
AIVA works more like a composer than a song generator. It is strong for orchestral, cinematic and game music, and it exports MIDI as well as audio, so you can open the arrangement in your DAW and change it. Higher plans include copyright ownership of your compositions.
5. Stable Audio and Mubert
Stable Audio is good for instrumental loops, textures and sound design. Mubert is built for endless generative streams and has an API for apps. Neither replaces Udio for songs with vocals, but both export audio you can use.
What about Udio's stems?
Udio's stem export was one of its best features, and it is gone. The practical fix: make the song in a tool that exports (like Suno), then split it with a stem separator such as Lalal.ai or Moises. You get vocals, drums, bass and other parts to remix or mix properly.
